Join us for an evening exploring the tradition of timber surfboard making in Australia and the unique artistry of ANDY WALLACE.
Andy will talk about how he employs only the traditional techniques of board manufacture where every piece of timber is selected according to its functionality and beauty, and used to shape the rails and ribs over which hand-shaped planks are combined to create the hull and deck of a fully functional hollow board.
Using rare and often salvaged, second life timber, Freedom Surfboards are unique, fully functional works of art, specifically designed to capture and preserve the beauty and joy that both nature and surfing provide.
Andy’s talk will be held at The Workshop Room at The SHAC
Refreshments provided.
