Steel City Strings presents a program that re-interprets ancient traditions with a contemporary twist featuring works inspired by Aboriginal Australia, American dance and Indigenous rhythms as well as music from Asia and Central Europe.
In a ground-breaking collaboration we play an Asian set with gamelan ensemble Suwitra Jaya UNSW, for part of the concert. Blending the shimmering resonance of gamelan with the expressive depth of western strings this fusion of sound worlds offers a truly immersive experience. Lively dances from Central Europe in our big string sound ending the concert will have your toes tapping!
Join us for a mesmerizing performance where tradition meets the contemporary in a truly global symphony!
