Moonacres Kitchen

Event Date: 16 Feb 2023, 10:00 am - 1:00 am

Mexican food is beloved all over the world for its amazing tastes and one-of-a-kind recipes. It’s well-known for its vibrant colours, authentic flavours, and long history of feeding people craving something with complexity. This class will truly delight your senses.

In 2015, Anna Phillips and the team from Gourmet Pilgrim books were awarded the Best Latin American Cuisine Book award by Gourmand World Cookbooks Award. Anna will guide and inspire you to make your very own slow cooked lamb in abodo sauce, handmade corn tortillas, tomatillo salsa, pica de gialo salsa, chicken pollo pibil and churros.

Mexican food is not one static type of food, it is literally a melting pot of flavours. In this class you will learn the easy way of making fresh corn tortillas and how chilli is used for flavour & not usually as ‘hot’ in recipes as in Asian/Indian cuisine. How accessible mexican ingredients are in Australia now, and how totopos (the cute name for corn chips) pairs with our salsa & guacamole.

During the class we offer brewed coffee, Pachamama teas and homemade treats from the Moonacres kitchen and after the class an abundant Mexican themed lunch with some local wine.

The class runs from 10am to 1pm.

At the heart of Moonacres’ is our regenerative farming of quality produce and we hope to inspire you to learn, prepare and eat food that is nourishing and delicious and, take pleasure in the simple act of a shared table.

Anna and the team here at the school look forward to seeing you soon.
