Fermenting vegetables is fun, delicious, nutritious and rewarding!
At this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art and science of fermentation by making your own kimchi and vegetable kvass.
We’ll discuss the fundamentals of successful fermentation – salting, temperature, and time. We’ll also cover the science of fermentation, the health and taste benefits, ways to incorporate fermented foods into your everyday diet, and a little history.
You’ll take home your own jar of kimchi and a bottle of vegetable kvass plus tips for healthy fermenting at home. We’ll also taste some fermented vegetable products to learn more about flavours.
Georgie Friday will be your guide. She is an avid fermenter and kimchi maker. She owns Friday Foods, a fermented and plant-based food business, based in Bundanoon, NSW.
All equipment will be provided. Cost $90
