The Australian Haydn Ensemble (AHE) is known for its performances of the music of Haydn, Beethoven and Mozart, with “convincing spirit and sophistication.” (ClassikON).
The Haydn’s Miracle concert is a Saturday afternoon of wonder and beauty, set off by the excellent acoustics of the Bowral Memorial Hall, ideally suited to the sounds of period instruments and historical chamber arrangements. The program includes Haydn’s “Miracle” Symphony and “Fantasia” Quartet, along with Schubert’s “Rosamunde” Quartet and Purcell’s Fantasia No. 8.
“Bowral’s Memorial Hall – a cosy auditorium with considerable seating capacity and a raised dais…gave the impression of a small salon, which is precisely the environment in which the music of the young Mozart [Beethoven and Haydn] thrived.” (State of the Art) 2025.
