Highland Harvest Feasts Presents Feast of the Longest Night

Birch Restaurant, 2/249 Argyle Street, Moss Vale

Event Date: 21 Jun 2022, 6:30 pm

Welcome to our new annual winter celebration TWISTED™ Festival where we combine all the very best of our seasonal events from the last 5 years into a 10-day Winter Feast Series.

And as the name suggests, we have bent, curled, and distorted all our dinners with our own signature style, drawing upon folklore, tales, entertainment, arts, and make believe to create unique dining adventures.

At the heart of our entire festival is the Winter Solstice. Throughout history, societies across the world have held festivals and ceremonies marking the shortest day of the year, as the day of the “sun’s rebirth.” Celebrations that honour the symbolism of fire and light, along with life, death, the rising sun, and the moon.

Feast of the Beast is the only dinner that will continue to be an outdoor feast cooked over fire. All our NEW feasts during the TWISTED™ Festival, are once only, never to be repeated events. You miss out, its gone and next year it will look different.

We are starting small with 6 feasts in 2022 and these will grow year on year, just as Feast of the Beast continues to do.

This year we are adding a new feast to our collection with the team at Birch as the Winter Solstice embraces us. The frosts of winter signal the start of truffle season so what better way to celebrate the mystical aroma of Black Perigord Truffles than with a 7 course truffle degustation dinner. Dine with us at Birch in Moss Vale by candlelight after the Shortest Day and on The Longest Night.

We come together for an intimate and elegant dinner for 40 people and mark this occasion with treasured local produce,  boutique wines and great conversation. The  solstice occurs when Earth’s poles reach their maximum tilt away from the Sun so the shortest day and the longest night also marks the beginning of shorter nights and longer days. Its a time of change as Spring draws near.

Dinner starts at 6.30pm for 7pm, with 5 tables of 8 guests, enjoy culinary dishes from team Birch under the warmth of glowing candle light with live acoustic tones and a few time old traditions to remember our ancestral beginnings. Dress – effortless elegance – and book a cab and/or babysitter.

Cost – $215.00 to $295.00
