International Dog Day at Retford Park

Retford Park National Trust, Old South Road, Bowral NSW, Australia

Event Date: 26 Aug 2023, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

In celebration of James’ adoration of his dogs, and in alignment with International Dog Day, we invite you and your furry friend to the festivities at Retford Park.

James Oswald Fairfax AC, the great-great-grandson of newspaper proprietor John Fairfax, called Retford Park home. Over his time there he owned over 13 dogs. Later in life, a family member gave Fairfax a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Paloma. This would be the start of many ‘Ridgie’ friends enjoying life on the estate.

Take a guided tour through the stunning gardens, check our the stick library, browse doggie clothing and treats plus a range of gifts for dog lovers, have your pet’s pawtrait taken at The Bark Room’s pop up studio, and so much more.
