It Started with REaD. Exhibition by Southern Highlands Textile & Fibre Network

The RE(aD) exhibition by the members of the Southern Highlands Textile and Fibre Network will showcase works by 18 members featuring handfelted merino and silk fashion, mixed media wall pieces, creative knitted wearables including hats, coats, scarves, wraps, shibori dyed garments, textile made jewellery, art quilts, printed fabric items and fibre arts.

The theme named “ It started with RE (a)D” gives the artist freedom to explore works including some red, but also use of books, texts, music focussing on all things readable. There will be plenty of works for the visitor to interpret.
The Network is a forum for anyone interested in textile and fibre work on a professional or recreational level. Meetings are held once a month in Bowral often with an invited speaker discussing their textile art practice. Workshops are often held including a variety of techniques relating to fibre arts.
