This Monograph of selected works will accompany Janette Hanrahan’s Survey Exhibition 1975-2020, to be held at the Bowral Art Gallery from 7th May – 11th May . This diverse body of works includes prints , paintings, drawings, artist’s books and sculptures and reflects a cohesive whole.
Janette has been a practising artist for the past 45 years living in the Southern Highlands of N.S.W.
Her work is mainly concerned with the natural environment, social and emotive issues, texture and form. She has exhibited extensively throughout her career in Australia and internationally and has held 6 Solo exhibitions.
Janette has been a finalist in significant exhibitions, such as The Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize, The Blake Prize, The Portia Geach Award, The Fremantle Print Award, Swan Hill Print and Drawing Award, Hutchins Art Prize, CPM Print Award and the 6th Kyoto International Woodcut Exhibition. In 2013 Janette was granted an Artist Residency in Murano, Venice, specialising in artist’s books.
