ALONG THE WATER’S EDGE
“Along the Water’s Edge” is a body of work made over the Summer and Autumn of 2024. The mixed media paintings on canvas express my appreciation of spending time outdoors and the enjoyment of being in the landscape.
Dividing my week between the stunningly beautiful coast of the Illawarra and the rugged majesty of Belmore Falls has been a great opportunity to consider how nature can evoke feelings of joy and abundance, and also the sense of sadness and loss.
Some days tranquility comes through connecting with nature, sometimes restlessness. Often a feeling of being nurtured by the natural world brings with it a deep feeling of appreciation and love.
Whatever arises on any given day the experience is enriched by making paintings.
