SPECTRUM 4 – Helen Johnston & Jan Maquire Exhibition

A chance meeting 20 years ago at a BDAS Workshop with Gillian Hook was the start of Spectrum 4. Like Spectrum 1, 2 and 3 before, this exhibition is the product of a friendship born of mutual love for artistic endeavour, travel, gardening and worldly interests.

Although Helen and Jan have pursued different careers in the past, they have shared many wonderful pursuits, such as Botanical Art classes at the Royal Botanical Gardens and Mt Annan, a move into acrylics with Denise Sumner and numerous Workshops pushing their art to new horizons. Now painting long distance they share their ideas and stimuli courtesy of electronics and many, many telephone calls.

Spectrum 4 is an exhibition of their combined evolving work.
