This is a rare opportunity to learn from portrait master Evert Ploeg during a 2-day tonal portraiture masterclass examining the underpinning fundamentals of good portraiture and figurative painting: form and tone.
Limited to just 10 students; participants will work in both dry media and oil paint.
Evert Ploeg is an internationally acclaimed artist whose subjects have included Deborah Mailman, Jana Wendt, Ben Lee, Richard Roxburgh, Dr Paul Scully Power – Australia’s first astronaut in space.
Nationally his work has been seen in Australia’s prestigious and often controversial Archibald Portrait Prize held at The Art Gallery of New South Wales. Evert has twice won the coveted Archibald People’s Choice Award in 1999 and 2007 and it’s Packing Room Prize in 2004.
His work is represented in numerous collections including the University of Melbourne, the private collection of The ABC, the Australian War Memorial and the permanent collection of The Australian National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
