A Field of Stone by Bruce Woods

Bruce Woods is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works in the Southern Highlands. He is best known for his interpretations of places of personal significance. In this exhibition, “Fields of Stone”, he explores the traditional lands of the Ngarigo people, the boulder strewn plains and hills around Berridale, Dalgetty, Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains. The “Fields of Stone” project was undertaken over a five year period involving making artworks and writing poetry in, and of, this deeply evocative landscape. His educational background includes undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Newcastle and has been awarded a Master of Creative Arts (with Distinction) from the University of Wollongong.
