ANNA CHUNG clarinet & Katherine Shin piano
The clarinet is known for its capacity to fit comfortably within many genres. While primarily a melodic instrument, its range of colours means it has a character somewhat like that of a chameleon. For this program, Anna has selected a diverse range of classical music that celebrates the chameleon-like character of the instrument.
ANNA CHUNG is an exciting young clarinetist who has pursued her musical journey in Melbourne, Sydney, and internationally. Since attending the Philadelphia International Music Festival in 2018, she has been under the tutelage and mentorship of Ricardo Morales (Principal clarinet, Philadelphia Orchestra) and Boris Allakhverdyan (Principal clarinet, LA Philharmonic). She has been offered to study MMus (Performance) at the Royal College of Music, London, from September 2025.
Associate Artist: KATHERINE KUM JU SHIN is a pianist and keyboard player. She won numerous local and national competitions and awards in Korea. After moving to Australia, she dedicated herself to playing the keyboard for Sydney Hosanna Praise & Worship for over 10 years. She completed her AMusA diploma in 2013. She frequently accompanies at concerts, auditions, competitions, HSC, IB Music and AMEB exams. She has been a church choir pianist since she was 10 and continues to do so today.
