We have been working away on some very exciting repertoire and are delighted to announce our next concert.
MOZART Requiem
Saturday 17 October 3pm
Bowral Memorial Hall
Our concert will take you on a short journey through some of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most uplifting melodic and dramatic works for choir, soloists and orchestra. The itinerary begins with his late-1770s settings of the Regina coeli text and the psalm Laudate dominum, with its much-loved soprano aria. The Ave verum corpus motet reveals the smaller-scale compositional craft of a man who had barely six months to live when he wrote it. Yet it would be followed by his iconic Requiem Mass, the final work on our program. This Requiem was a monumental undertaking that lay unfinished at his death in December 1791, to be completed by his young collaborator Franz Xaver Süssmayr.
Come with us as we traverse some of the high peaks of the classical repertoire in the 270th anniversary of Amadeus’ birth – a choral Mozartiana.
We also are happy to let you know that you can now choose your preferred seats at time of purchase, the seat map for the Bowral Memorial Hall has been added!
