Serendipity the Choir “Peace on Earth”

Serendipity the choir invites you to our December concert in Bundanoon. We chose the theme “Peace on Earth” because so many of us have been feeling unsettled by the news lately, especially the conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere. Music can’t fix everything, but it can comfort us and give us a little hope.
The concert begins softly, with lullabies and gentle cradle songs. From there, it brightens into music full of joy, play and a touch of winter magic. Along the way, you’ll hear some quieter, more reflective pieces, including a song that draws on Jewish and Arabic words for peace, sung side by side as a gesture of friendship across faiths. We finish with a simple anthem, sung plainly and sincerely, wishing for peace on Earth.
And of course, there will be carols! Three much-loved favourites will be included and we’d love you to sing along. For those moments, there’s no difference between choir and audience. The whole room becomes one choir.
Choral music has always been about listening to one another and blending rather than competing, making something together that no single voice could manage alone. That, in a small way, is what peace looks like.
We hope you leave feeling not just entertained but reminded that if comparative strangers can find harmony for an afternoon, perhaps the wider world can too.
