Sunday 27 September 2026 – BRICKWORKS FARM
To take advantage of this beautiful season join us on a journey to The Brickworks Farm in Mittagong where Melanie and April grow a huge variety of seedlings to suit our cool Southern Highlands climate.
There are heirloom vegetables that include a range of mild to hot chillies; colourful tomatoes; brassicas; melons; pumpkins; lettuces and a variety of leafy greens…and more. And where would a garden be without fragrant herbs?
Seedlings of these are available for growing in both the garden or pots and are selected for seasonal growing conditions. And of course there are special flowers to grow with your vegetables: those for the pollinators; those that attract predators away from greens; those that are edible and those to cut and arrange in vases.
Following morning tea, we will tour the farm with Melanie sharing her extensive knowledge of the many plant varieties. Seedlings will be available to buy. Please bring containers to hold your purchases (we will have some spares if you forget!)
Cost: $15 (Slow Food members), $25 (visitors/non-members)
