The Southern Highlander

This spring, enjoy a day out aboard a heritage train from Sydney to Bundanoon for the Bundanoon Garden Ramble.

Travel behind a vintage diesel locomotive from Sydney to Picton, where the train will then be met by the Powerhouse Museum’s historic steam locomotive 3265 for the onward journey to the Southern Highlands and return.

At Bundanoon you can choose to enjoy the Garden Ramble – an annual springtime event offering access to a collection of private gardens, ranging from quaint cottage retreats to expansive country estates.

The village will be buzzing with activities. Enjoy the vibrant market stalls at the Village Hall or take advantage of the free shuttle bus from the Hall to explore each garden at your leisure. You can also explore the town on a guided history walking tour.

When you need to relax, the local cafés and the historic Hotel are ready to welcome you with delicious food and warm hospitality.

Don’t miss the recently restored, historic Bundanoon Railway Station, and it’s authentic signal box. A special open day and display at this beautiful heritage landmark will bring to life the fascinating stories of the station.
