Gales Flat campground is a challenging walk-in campground in a remote part of Morton National Park. Secluded and scenic, surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs, it’s ideal for an overnight stop as you walk or cycle along Griffins walking track.
Gales Flat campground is a great stopover if you’re hiking or mountain biking in Morton National Park. Accessed by foot or bicycle via Griffins walking track, starting from Jacks Corner or Meryla Pass, you’ll be surrounded by spectacular natural beauty in this rustic campsite.
Pitch your tent on the grass among the trees and admire the sandstone cliffs that tower overhead. As you enjoy the tranquillity of this remote location, keep your eyes peeled for some of the area’s plentiful wildlife and indulge in some birdwatching.
After a peaceful night’s sleep, you’ll be ready to explore the creek crossings, rocky outcrops and scenic views along Griffins walking track. Or get your heart pumping with a ride through Yarrunga Creek Valley along the Fitzroy Falls to Kangaroo Valley cycling route.

You may book a maximum of two sites for the same time period. Sites are unassigned. This is a free campground; however a non-refundable booking fee of $6 applies.
