A leisurely drive in the country, what could be more relaxing? There are some great drives throughout the Southern Highlands’ towns and villages, literally up hill and down dale. Along the way you will find attractions, rural vistas, quaint villages, events, wildlife, wineries and historic sites. The four main drives are signposted with the recognizable brown and white signs.

Tourist Drive 14 commences as you leave the F5 Expressway. As the road straightens you will come through the village of Braemar, continuing into Mittagong past the Highlands Golf Club and Mittagong Caravan Park. You will see the Southern Highlands Visitor Information Centre on your left as you come into the town.

To really do this drive justice, allow yourself plenty of time to fit everything in. Heading east from the Kangaloon Road roundabout in Bowral, you will pass Horderns Road leading to Milton Park on your left and the Bong Bong Racetrack on your right, continue & see Kangaloon Road intersection, turn left for Wingecarribee Reservoir.

Starting at Moss Vale the drive to Sutton Forest along the Illawarra Highway is only 6kms. From Sutton Forest to Exeter you will see extremely picturesque countryside, with rolling green hills and pastureland on both sides of the road. Exeter village is where you can see a fine example of an English style stone church and more.

Tourist Drive 17 commences in Mittagong. The Southern Highlands Welcome Centre is located here and offers a wide range of souvenirs, maps and local produce. Just down the road is Winifred West Park which offers picnic facilities, toilets and a playground for children.
