On Saturday 20 June we will be educated and entertained by the guru of spices, Ian ‘Herbie’ Hemphill. This is an opportunity to learn about a range of spices and herbs, including some lesser-known ones, and our Australian native varieties. You will also be able to select from the spices on offer and grind your own blend. Please bring a mortar and pestle if you have one – we will also have some spares on hand.
Ian will also bring some relevant spice varieties for you to purchase (not the whole 300+ in his repertoire!) as well as two of his books: The Spice & Herb Bible 3rd Edition, and How to Add Flavor, the latest book he’s developed with his daughter Kate McIntosh, a professional graduate from Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London.
Cost: $25 (Slow Food members), $30 (visitors/non-members)
