Peggy McDonald is a local lady who has been a rehabilitator for over 40 years. Her main passion is birds, specialising in birds of prey, Gang Gangs and Cockatoos. Peggy was awarded a Churchill Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust with the topic “Advance and exchange our knowledge of Australian Raptor rehabilitation and release” which she has recently completed. Peggy will discuss her fellowship journey and her work with birds of prey including the construction of the largest free flight rehabilitation aviary of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
