Free Get Online Week 2023 events are coming to the SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS hosted by THE CTC ROBERTSON

●     Get Online Week 2023 will kick off across Australia on Monday 16 October, with more than 500 community organisations holding free events across the nation to support thousands of people to get online safely, with confidence.

●     CTC Robertson will get involved in Australia’s largest community-led digital inclusion campaign is taking part by hosting 2 free and fun digital skills events on:

●     Thursday 19th October, from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm

Get Yarning with a free afternoon tea.

o Learn how to find patterns, download, and save them.

o  Find popular online stores for buying yarning, knitting crocheting materials and tools.

o Learn to share with your friends!

●     FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER FROM 12.00 – 3.00 pm

Free BBQ lunch hosted by CTC and The Robertson Men and Women’s  Shed

o Find out more about our free presentations and workshops.

o Develop your digital skills.

o Learn how to keep safer online and use technology with confidence.

●     Get Online Week events provide Australians the opportunity to learn digital skills, and feel safer and more confident online.

Organised by Good Things Foundation Australia, Get Online Week reaches more than 15,000 Australians annually, helping them improve their digital skills.

This year, from 16-22 October, hundreds of local events are happening in person and online, where people can learn the essential skills needed for today’s evolving digital landscape.

“Digital skills are just as important today as access to food, housing and education,” says Jess Wilson, CEO Good Things Foundation Australia. “That’s why Get Online Week is so important. The local events that happen throughout the week reach people in need of digital support, who may otherwise get left behind. Receiving digital skills support empowers people to feel confident and safe when connecting online with loved ones, shopping online or digitally applying for their new dream job.”

According to the  Australian Digital Inclusion Index 2023, nearly one in four people are digitally excluded across the nation. Digital skills support, offered through local Get Online Week events, aims to empowers people to feel confident in their ability to keep up with technology, learn to navigate the online world and feel safe online.
