Direct from the Island of Sodor, Thomas & Friends return to the NSW Rail Museum for five days of family fun!
What your ticket includes

‘MUSEUM ONLY’ ticket:

  • Meet Thomas – climb into the driver’s cab and toot his whistle.
  • Take a short ride with Toby the Railmotor.
  • Meet Sir Topham Hatt alongside Thomas.
  • Unlimited mini-train rides.
  • Unlimited jumping castle rides – three castles to cater for different age groups.
  • Professional face painting – inside the museum.
  • Imagination Station – enter a colouring competition and play Thomas games.
  • Storyteller – enjoy a Thomas story amongst the trains in the Great Train Hall.

​’MUSEUM + TRAIN RIDE’ ticket:

  • All of the above ‘museum only’ ticket inclusions, plus . . .
  • 30-minute steam train ride hauled by ‘Donald’ from Thirlmere to Buxton and return.

​Both tickets include ALL DAY entry to the NSW Rail Museum where kids of all ages can explore the biggest display of heritage trains in the country!

Food and drink options

A variety of food options will be available, including a sausage sizzle. Self-serve BBQ facilities are also available on a first come, first served basis.

​You’re also welcome to pack a picnic – don’t forget a rug!

Steam train ride timetable

Steam train rides with Donald depart Sodor (Thirlmere) Station at:

9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm

​Total trip duration 30-minutes.

Terms and conditions
  • All tickets are for entry to the NSW Rail Museum from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
  • ‘Museum only’ includes all the Thomas activities, except a steam train ride.
  • Please be sure of your availability before you book as there are NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES offered.
  • Children under 2 are admitted FREE but must sit on adults lap during train ride.
  • The NSW Rail Museum reserves the right to change locomotive power without notice, however will endeavour to notify customers of this change should the need arise for operational reasons.
