Grammy Award-winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee JAMES TAYLOR announces his Australian 2024 tour, An Evening with James Taylor & His All-Star Band.

Roundhouse Entertainment, in conjunction with Live Nation, is thrilled that the legendary singer-songwriter and guitarist will be back in Australia for the first time in seven years, making a welcome return to a day on the green. JAMES TAYLOR will play his only Queensland show at Sirromet Wines, Mount Cotton on Sunday 21 April, as well as performing at Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley, NSW on Saturday 27 April and Centennial Vineyards, Bowral, NSW on Sunday 28 April.

Joining the iconic six-time Grammy winner at a day on the green will be very special guests JOSH PYKE and ELLA HOOPER.

Tickets on sale on Friday 8 December at 10.00am local time via Ticketmaster, with AAMI members’ presale and a day on the green members’ presale beginning Wednesday 6 December at 9.00am local time.

As a recording and touring artist, JAMES TAYLOR has touched people with his warm baritone voice and distinctive style of guitar-playing for more than 50 years. His songs have had a profound influence on both songwriters and music lovers of all generations: Fire and Rain, Country Road, Sweet Baby James, Carolina In My Mind, and in 1971 he scored his first number one single with You’ve Got A Friend, written by Carole King, earning him his first Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal. “The key word for a James Taylor concert is ‘perfection’. “Attending a James Taylor concert is like having an old mate round for an evening, and he brings his guitar along, and he plays some of your favourite songs.” – Adelaide Advertiser Over the course of his celebrated songwriting and performing career, JAMES TAYLOR has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards since the release of his self-titled debut album in 1968. In 2015, Taylor released Before This World, the first-ever number one album of his illustrious career.

JAMES TAYLOR has won multiple Grammy Awards, has been inducted into both the Rock & Roll and the prestigious Songwriters Halls of Fame, and in February 2006 The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences selected him as its MusicCares Person of the Year. Taylor was also awarded the distinguished Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government and the National Medal of Arts by President Barack Obama in 2012.

In November 2015, Taylor was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Nation’s highest civilian honour and in December 2016 he received the Kennedy Center Honors, which are presented annually to individuals who have enriched American culture by distinguished achievement in the performing arts. In early 2020 Taylor released Break Shot, a deeply personal and authentic audio-only memoir detailing his first 21 years.

He also released his newest album, American Standard, his 19th studio album, which earned Taylor the 2021 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and gave him the honour of being the first artist to have a Billboard Top 10 album in each of the past six decades.

JOSH PYKE is one of Australia’s most loved and respected songwriters. Since breaking out to widespread success with the release of his debut album Memories & Dust in 2007, Josh has cultivated a strong community of supporters around Australia and beyond, winning four ARIA Awards along the way. Renowned for his multi-layered melodies and lyrics that are both deeply personal and highly relatable – a testament to his authentic and deep-set connection to the craft of music and its uniting appeal – each record Josh has released in the years since have brought him closer to his fans. After six Top 10 albums, Josh’s latest release, To Find Happiness, shows that his creative powers remain undimmed.

ELLA HOOPER was still a teenager when she burst onto the Australian music scene. Unearthed by Triple J when she was just 13, Ella scored her first number one with the Killing Heidi single Mascara on her 17th birthday, and their debut album, Reflector, entered the ARIA charts at #1, spending six weeks on top, going five times platinum and winning four ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Group. And at 18, Ella became the first woman to be awarded APRA’s Songwriter of the Year. After releasing three hit albums with Killing Heidi, Ella embarked on a solo career. Her latest album, Small Town Temple – written in her hometown of Violet Town – has been hailed as a new beginning, showcasing Ella’s deeply personal songwriting.
