Light Up Christmas

Ain’t no party like a Christmas party and the Southern Highlands is kicking off the festive season in style with an evening filled with music, lights, laughter and community kicking off on Saturday 6 December

In a wonderful community collaboration, Wingecarribee Shire Council will host Light Up Christmas on Saturday 6 December,
joining with incredible community organisations Angels In Our Town and Festival Of Lights to activate the town centre of Bowral and celebrate the start of the most wonderful time of the year.

Starting with the Angels In Our Town Parade on Bong Bong Street, this really is a parade with heart.
Locals are encouraged to line the parade route to say thank you and cheer on our first responders, volunteers and service organisations who work so hard for the community all year round. Not all Angels wear wings!

The parade will be followed by the official lighting of the 2025 Christmas Tree in Corbett Plaza with Mayor of Wingecarribee Shire Council, Jesse Fitzpatrick on hand to flick the switch – lights, baubles, action!

The festive sparkle continues in Corbett Gardens where this most iconic of local parks will be ready to shine bright thanks to the Festival Of Lights spectacular illuminated displays,
a fantastic initiative put together by Business Southern Highlands.  We LOVE a Christmas glow-up!

Santa Claus is coming to (Bowral) town, too.
He’ll be touching down in Corbett Gardens so bring your camera or selfie stick to get a pic with the (very busy!) man in red before he heads back to the North Pole.

The evening of merry celebrations continues with the Carols In The Park Family Concert, a wonderful family-friendly event overflowing with Christmas carols, entertainment, food and refreshments.
Pack a picnic, buy something delicious from the food stall, bring your singing voice and Christmas spirit for a joyous night of carols – get ready to jingle those bells!
