Book & lyrics by Doug MacLeod
Music by Yuri Worontshak

Adapted from the book ‘ I sang for my supper’ by Margaret Fulton

Margaret Fulton was an Australian cooking superstar long before today’s TV Cooks. 1.5 million copies of her cookbooks have been sold and she fundamentally shifted the way Australian’s ate.

The story follows her life from WWII factory worker, single mother in the Rocks, success in a man’s world, love, accumulating fortune and almost losing it.

First staged in St Kilda 2021 it was met with critical acclaim as was the follow-up season in Sydney.

At the age of 94 in 2018, Margaret remarked of the musical:
“I always dreamed of being a bluebell dancer unfortunately my legs did not make the grade, so I took up cooking instead”

Margaret Fulton received an OAM in 1983 and was later identified as a National Living Treasure
