Masterclass with Tamara Dean

Tamara Dean is a critically acclaimed photo media artist working in photography, installation and moving image. Her practice explores our connection to nature and rites of passage in contemporary life. In each of Dean’s photographs, her subjects quietly and intimately engage with their natural surroundings. The artist’s unique understanding of light and landscape reveal sensual pieces that invite contemplation.

Join us for a weekend photography masterclass with High Jinks in the Hydrangeas artist Tamara Dean. Taking place over two days, you will work directly with the artist, learn about the principles of photography, and build your portfolio of work.

Day 1 – Saturday 27 November | 3:30pm – 8:30pm
Tamara will discuss her practice, take you through her process and give a guided tour of her exhibition High Jinks in the Hydrangeas. The artist captured many of her photographs at Retford Park Garden, she will guide you through the sculpted landscape and discuss how she orchestrates her scenes. You will then have the opportunity to create your own work in a guided session with the artist.

Day 2 – Sunday 28 November | Individually allocated time slot
Ngununggula staff will be in touch to schedule you in for a one-on-one session with Tamara to discuss the work you produced during the practical session.
The Masterclass is $500 per participant, and remember you’ll need to have have a Digital SLR camera, tripod and intermediate photography skills to get the most out of this exciting workshop.
