With people taking ever more precautions to help limit the spread of Covid-19, Tractorless Vineyard is introducing virtual guided wine-tastings.
Chief winemaker of Tractorless Vineyard, Jeff Aston, said that he is initiating the wine tastings to make social distancing a little less isolating.
“For me, one of the best things about wine is how it brings people together in sharing an experience,” Jeff said. “I always love hosting tastings at our cellar door in Bowral — they’re an incredibly social occasion. They’re a chance for people to try a selection of different wines, learn about how we’ve created them, and share their reactions and their thoughts.”
“With the appearance of the Coronavirus, and the precautions that we’re all taking to minimize its spread, I’m seeing a lot of friends and families restricting themselves to their homes. It’s the smart thing to do – the responsible thing to do – but I hate the idea of everyone just huddling at home, watching shows and movies in silence. So, we’re creating these virtual guided wine tastings.”
Tractorless Vineyard has put together tasting packages that customers can order to be sent to their homes.
“In each package, we ship samples of all our wines in 50 ml tasters,” Jeff said. “It’s the ideal size for two people to try each of our wines.
“Once you receive the package I will facetime you at the booked day and time we will get all your friends online at the same time and then I will guide you through our wines. These live ones I’m really excited about; people can write in with their questions and reactions while I’m live. It’ll be a bit of the sociability that we get to enjoy at our Cellar Door here in the Southern Highlands.
