Bundanoon’s finest and longest running cinema house.
“The Rescue” is a gripping documentary that chronicles the dramatic 2018 mission to save twelve boys and their soccer coach trapped deep inside a flooded cave in Thailand. Directed by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, the film combines real footage, reenactments, and firsthand interviews to reveal the extraordinary international effort behind the rescue. With intense underwater cave diving, split-second decisions, and remarkable teamwork, The Rescue captures both the peril of the operation and the resilience of the human spirit.
The Rex Cinema is a ‘pop up’ cinema that regularly takes over the local Soldiers’ Memorial Hall in Bundanoon. The cinema is run by The Rex Cinema committee, a Sub-Committee of the Bundanoon Community Association.
Screenings at The Rex are a great social event, with highlands-based vineyards often supporting film evenings with their wines prior to the film. Whether you are a local or a visitor, you will be very welcome at The Rex Cinema.
