Bowral Honey Farm is a working apiary and visitor experience located at Retford Park, offering hands-on tours, honey tastings, and a glimpse into the fascinating world of bees in the heart of the Southern Highlands.

Bowral Honey Farm is a unique and immersive experience located on the picturesque grounds of Retford Park, a National Trust property in the heart of the Southern Highlands. As a working apiary and visitor destination, Bowral Honey Farm offers guests the chance to step into the fascinating world of bees, learn about their vital role in the environment, and taste the pure flavours of the region through our local honeys.

Our guided experiences invite visitors to wear a light protective veil and take a short stroll to view the hives up close, while learning how bees forage, communicate, and contribute to food production and biodiversity. After visiting the hives, guests can relax on our beautiful terrace overlooking landscaped gardens and rolling hills, where they are treated to a guided tasting of a range of seasonal honeys—each one reflecting the unique floral sources of the Southern Highlands.

In addition to our tours, Bowral Honey Farm is proud to offer a boutique honey shop, open every weekend. Here, visitors can browse and purchase a variety of artisan honeys, handmade beeswax products, gifts, and local specialties to take a piece of the Highlands home with them.

Whether you’re visiting as part of a social group, a Probus club, a corporate outing, or simply looking for an authentic countryside experience, Bowral Honey Farm offers a relaxed, educational, and sensory-rich outing for all ages.

We are proud to be part of the living heritage of Retford Park, continuing the tradition of sustainability, education, and connection to nature in one of the most beautiful and culturally rich settings in New South Wales.

Come and discover the wonder of bees with us—taste, learn, explore, and take home something special.
