Wingello Forest Recreation Area is located within the located within the Wingello State Forest, four kilometres South East of Wingello Village.
Like many forests in the southern highlands, Wingello is a mix of pine plantation and hardwood forest with beautiful stands of peppermint, manna gum and stringybarks.
The recreation area offers a campground surrounded by radiata pine forests. Camping is free of charge, there are no allocated camp sites.
Facilities include a children’s nature playground, paved bike path loop, picnic facilities, toilets. We encourage you to help keep it clean, and please visit and support the nearest town.

It is a popular location for horse riding and dog sledding check for closures and updates on the Forestry Corporation website
There is access to a variety of shared mountain Bike trails of varying levels, signage is in the process of improvement, please access the map for further information.
