Showcasing the outstanding creative talents of the NSW Southern Highlands.
The Southern Highlands is home to arguably the highest concentration of artists and artisans in rural Australia. In fact, the nation’s top three painters ~ John Olsen, Tim Storrier and Ben Quilty ~ are all based here.
The SHAC ~ Southern Highlands Artisans Collective ~ is a not-for-profit organisation building a vibrant creative hub in the old potato shed (next to The Big Potato) in Robertson NSW, bringing together some of the most talented artists and artisans in the Highlands under one roof.
The SHAC, opened in May 2019, is a dynamic destination where visitors can see a diverse range of artisans and artists at work in their studios creating work or browse in our dedicated art gallery space. One-of-a-kind artworks are for sale in The SHAC Gallery and direct from the artists and artisans. The public, designers and architects can also commission bespoke work or see visiting artisans doing talks and lectures.
We also hold regular workshops where you can learn from our talented artisans and guest tutors.
The world-class Moonacres School will also move into The SHAC in April 2020 adding to the ever-growing collective buzz in Robertson.
